The North fork is partially in Rocky Mountain National Park and accessible in the Wild Basin area. It can be tough to access the waters of the St. Vrain here, as most of it runs through steep canyon and the dense national park forest. The levels are a little low but okay. . Rating: The St. Vrain is a great small stream with good access for local residents. Golden Stoneflies hatch from about the middle of June into the month of August depending on the location and elevation. We continue to get a few good reports. I could have excused my fussing around by thinking that John has fished the St. Vrain for all of his adult life and could gear up in his sleep for a days fishing, but theres more to it than that.
