God knows our every fall, our every sin, and our every backsliding, yet his heart is fixed upon us in love. Because God does not change, we can count on what He has promised in His Word to come to pass. In the second quote, God compares Himself to earthly parents to again illustrate His superiority as a parent. How tragic that such a beautiful facet of God’s character — that He is not a distant, impersonal ruler, but a warm and welcoming papa — is often tainted by the weaknesses of human fathers! Eph. 24.
